The 2021 Census recorded 33% of total population were born outside Australia. This figure is similar to the 2016 result which at 33.3%.

The suburbs of Strathfield and Greater Dandenong recorded highest proportion of population born outside Australia in these two areas were reported at 62% and 61.4% respectively.

The area recorded highest cultural diversity in 2016, Perth LGA, indicates slight decrease in last 5 years. Perth recorded 60% of population born outside Australia in 2021, down from 64.4% in 2016.
