The following provides a summary of the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ (ABS) Census 2021 and regular update data topics now available in DataAU. Recent releases gave our team the opportunity to create additional topics, with new additions highlighted below to assist users in comparing data and deriving insights across each Australian region.

Specifically, our October updates include tourism related insights for the June 2023 quarter, which also provides financial year annual topics, and modular content located within DataAU’s Tourism Portal.

We are excited to deliver a major update to DataAU’s Carbon Model, with features making it easier to understand your region’s detailed net emissions profile, including more detailed categories, and region-specific future baseline scenarios using the National Greenhouse Gas Accounts for national comparison and analysis.

Additionally, we have created new data topics for region specific insights on journey to work by occupation, social service payment insights, and changing population metrics to support your understanding of your region and compare this information to any region across the nation.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Census 2021 updates have been released through various stages from June 2022, for almost all geographic outputs (including place of usual residence (PoUR) and place of enumeration (PoE) on Census night).
