• DataAU Tourism Portal Data Update:

  Access updated and comprehensive tourism insights within DataAU’s exclusive Tourism Portal, including visitation data and spending patterns for the June 2023 reference period, which unlocks quarterly and detailed financial year updates.
  
  

• Monthly Building Approvals:

  Building approvals data for the reference period to September 2023 provides users with the latest insights into the construction industry’s health and future growth prospects. This data topic is consistently referenced as a leading indicator of potential building activity in the future.
  
  

• Australia Accommodation Monitor (FY23):

  The financial year saw significant growth in average rates and consistent improvements in occupancy, with leisure destinations leading the rebound before capital cities.

• Department of Social Services Payment (Mar 2016 - June 2023):

They also reflect the varying impacts of economic changes across different income groups, highlighting the need for targeted policies in addressing these disparities.

• ABS Revisions to Estimated Resident Population and Population Components:

  The ABS finalised rebased population estimates, introducing methodological changes for estimating net interstate migration, resulting in significant revisions to net interstate migration estimates from September 2016 onwards.
  From these revisions, we can see that Australia’s population grew by 497,000 people over the year to December 2022, an increase of 1.9 per cent. This is the largest annual increase in Australia’s population on record, but the growth rate remains well below the peak of 2.2 per cent in 2008. DataAU users will benefit from the latest ABS revisions for accurate population estimates and projections.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Census 2021 updates have been released through various stages from June 2022, for almost all geographic outputs (including place of usual residence (PoUR) and place of enumeration (PoE) on Census night).
