Quarterly update of visitor and visitor night estimates for international visitors. The latest data is reported for Quarter 1 2021.
International visitor data is informed by the International Visitor Survey (NVS), which samples departing short-term international travellers aged 15 years and over who have been visiting Australia. It measures travel for all reasons, including holiday and leisure travel, business travel and travel to visit friends and/or relatives. The survey is conducted by Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) in the departure lounges of the eight major international airports: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, and the Gold Coast.
Data is reported quarterly for the periods of September 2005 to March 2021 in DataAU.
